Presentation

The Department of Agroindustrial Technology and Rural Socio-Economics (DTAiSeR-Ar) was created in 1991, from the incorporation of the technical staff and facilities of the Industry and Economics and Planning Sections of Planalsucar (research body of the extinct Sugar and Alcohol Institute – IAA), by the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), constituting one of the three academic departments of the Center for Agricultural Sciences (CCA).

DTAiSeR-Ar is structured around its two thematic areas, Agroindustry and Rural Socio-Economics, and participates in programs in Agronomic Engineering and Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology and in the Graduate Program in Agroecology and Rural Development at CCA.

Department Head

The administration of DTAiSeR-Ar is carried out by Prof. PhD. Christiane de Fátima Martins França and by Prof. PhD. Gilberto Rodrigues Liska as her substitute; the deliberative body is the Departmental Council, composed of all the department’s professors, in addition to a representative from the technical-administrative body and one from the student body.
