Academic and professional background: She is currently a professor of the Licentiate Progra in Physics at CCA/UFSCar, Araras campus. She is a regular doctoral student at the PPG in Education for Sciences at FC/UNESP, Bauru campus, where she defended her master’s thesis. She has a degree in Physics from FEIS/UNESP (2007). She works in subjects related to the teaching of Science, such as Methodology and Physics Teaching Practice, Supervised Internship and Introduction to Research in Science Teaching. She develops research focused on the relationships between science, technology, society and environment, on debates on socio-scientific issues in a critical perspective. Recently, she has been included in studies on teacher education according to Habermas' Theory of Communicative Action. She participates in the research groups “Continuing Teacher Education and Formative Assessment” and “Education in Science and Mathematics”, in addition to being part of the technical team of the journal Ciência & Educação.

She is a professor at UFSCar-Campus Araras (Adjunct 4) and leader of the research group on polymeric materials and biosorbents. She gas experience in the area of Materials, with an emphasis on Conductive Materials, hybrids, rubber technology and ferti-release materials with application in agriculture and environment, working on the following topics: preparation, characterization and evaluation of properties of conductive polymers, hybrid polymeric materials, conductive elastomers, natural clays. She conducts research with an emphasis on sustainability, thinking about optimizing the process for obtaining materials. She is currently (2014-2016) director of the Division of Materials of the Brazilian Society of Chemistry.
